If You Can Pardon, Overlook And Forgive Then You Will Progress As A Soul.

God gives us some wise words throughout the Quran to pardon and overlook the behaviour of the disbelievers.

[2:109] Many among the People of the Book would love to revert you to being disbelievers after having believed. This is due to envy on their part after the truth has been made clear to them. So pardon and overlook until God delivers His command. Indeed, God is Capable of all things.

[5:13] Due to their breaking of their covenant, We cursed them and turned their hearts hard. They distort the words out of their context and have forgotten a portion of what they were reminded of. You will still observe betrayal from them, except for a few. Pardon them and overlook. God loves the good-doers.

God also advises to be wary of our own spouses and children and to pardon, overlook and forgive them:

[64:14] O you who believe, among your spouses and your children are enemies to you, so be wary of them. If you pardon, overlook and forgive, then indeed, God is Forgiver, Merciful.

Typical traits of the disbelievers include:

-Arrogance

-Manipulative

-Controlling

-Self-centrered

-Untrustworthy

-No accountability

-Lack of patience

-Dishonest

-Disrespectful

Usually this kind of behaviour is hidden unless you know the person on a much deeper level, such as a partner in marriage.

If you can recognise this lowly behaviour in someone you know, remember the knowledge to pardon and overlook as it helps to tolerate the behaviour.

Since the majority of people are not believers (12:103), we cannot avoid people with these traits so it is important to learn how to tolerate it and in turn, rise above it.

If someone acts out of line, you can either choose to take it personally and let it affect you, or instead take a moment reflect on their character.

Pardon and overlook their lowly traits. Realise your self worth. Don’t let their words or their actions affect you, don’t let them belittle you.

Be the stronger person and refuse to go down to their level. Do not behave like them and resort to patience instead. Ignore them and walk away.

[30:60] So be patient. Indeed, God’s promise is truthful, and do not let those who lack certainty belittle you.

When you realise their behaviour is immature due to lack of development of their souls, you break free from being affected by it.

Life is full of choices. While you cannot change them, you are in control of your actions and the way you handle and respond to the situation.

If you are dealing with someone with anger issues, there is no need to respond with anger.

The suppressors of rage and those who pardon the people are successful ones:

[3:134] who give in prosperity and hardship, and the suppressors of rage, and those who pardon the people. God loves the good-doers.

If someone betrays or hurts you, exercise patience instead of seeking revenge. Trust God to deal with them. Leave it in His Hands.

[16:126] And if you punish, you should give a punishment equivalent to the punishment you received. But if you exercise patience, it would be better for the patient ones.

They will not get away with it, even if they think they do. They will be held accountable. God is witnessing everything they do.

Learn to let go. Remember, God is in full control. Nothing happens except as God wills.

If you disclose something good or conceal it, or if you pardon something bad, then indeed, God is Pardoner, Capable. 4:149

It takes a strong sense of self to overlook the childish behaviour of the disbelievers. When you learn to pardon, overlook and forgive then you will advance as a soul.

Forgiveness is important for our own souls to develop, because it is actually detrimental to our souls when we do not forgive.

and who stay away from gross sins and immortalities, and when they get angry, they forgive, 42:37

The blamers will always blame. The hypocrites will always pretend. Disregard them. As long as we don’t get caught up in their games, we become unbreakable.

Remember, the hearts of the disbelievers are hardened and there is a disease in their hearts. It’s the reason why they have these traits.

Believers hold the knowledge of the Hereafter and are blessed with certainty. The disbelievers do not have this peace of mind.

We must not get caught up in the illusion of this worldly life. Instead focus on what’s important and remember why we are here, to obtain nearness to God.

We must try to behave in the best possible manner at all times, to avoid potentially damaging our own souls when dealing with the disbelievers.

And whoever is patient and forgives; that is indeed the most resolute behavior. 42:43

The disbelievers are vibrating at such low frequencies and we do not want to match their energies as this will affect our higher vibrations of love and light.

Those who have the strength to pardon, overlook and forgive have advanced in their life journey and are set free.

They have learned some of the wisdom and key lessons that need to be learned while we are here.
